Cocktails with a touch of opulence can be found in Cardiff in the form of Chapel 1877, a fine dining restaurant within a gorgeous converted chapel. Victorian pub The Flora had new life breathed into it last year, with some sizeable investment from the folks at Ten Mill Lane. The vibe inside is now hipster-bar-meets-boozer, with old-school wooden chairs mixed with colourful wall art, plush chairs, pints of real ale as well as carefully crafted, quirky cocktails for a mere £5. Students, start counting out your pennies, it’s Mojito o’clock.
The Hashery is a bar with a bit of personality, unique décor, contemporary lighting meets cartoon walls, cheeky pop art references and personalised guitars to reserve your seating. The best part about this bar is that the cocktails are two for one all day long, which is either a very wonderful, or very dangerous thing, depending on your self-control. Read my review of the Hashery for more info.
